Back to Regularly Scheduled Posting....

Prior to being so rudely interrupted by Maggotfest 2010 and then further delayed by another weekend away at a resort downtown (more on that later), I was in the process of wrapping up posts from 2009 and my brother's visit.

Anyway, the second (and last) week of Trey's visit, Don was back at work.  Trey, Price and I hit the beach again...  This time, we went to Gab Gab Beach on Big Navy.  Although not the most gorgeous beach on the island, it it is truly a kid-friendly place.  The water is as calm as a bathtub, palm trees provide ample shade, and according to my brother the snorkeling is superb.  Price loved watching all the other people on the beach and in the water.  There were lots of boats and even a tourist submarine that popped up from time to time for him to look at as well.  Since the water was so calm and shallow, he just sat in the water and played with his sand toys while watching Uncle Trey snorkel in the distance.

I had never been to Gab Gab before, and even though it's a bit of a drive (yes, it really does about 45 minutes to get somewhere that is only 25 miles away), it was totally worth it to find out that I could easily take Price down there by myself.  We had such a good time, we went back two days later.

Gab Gab was pretty much the highlight of our week.  We did drive to the southern end of the island so Trey could eat at Jeff's Pirate Cove.  While we were down that way, we tried to go to Hammoto's Tropical Fruit World, but they were only giving tours in Japanese that day.  But a few beers (Trey's, none for me since I was driving), burgers and Greek platters later- all was good with the world as we enjoyed an oceanside lunch watching the kite boarders.

Sadly, Trey left for home on January 1st.  At a ridiculous early time!!  So, we didn't do anyhting special to ring in the New Year.  We even forgot to open the champagne (which I left in the freezer for several days and one bottle exploded).  We had a great visit and were sad to see him go.  Of course, Price tried to get him to stay...

The "guest room" is open again, who's coming to visit us next????

I can be a complete social retard sometimes!! It was at Top Of the Rock, and we were there with people, and you were there with people- so I figured our "meet cute" could wait ;)

And yes, maggots are horrible, vile creatures- HATE, HATE, HATE them.

Next week sounds good! Have fun in Saipan.

We should have nicknamed Dauphin Island "Gab Gab Island," considering how much gabbing we did!

I did have a dream the night before last that I had flown out there to see you guys...does that count for anything?

OMG KJ- WE TOTALLY need to talk- I had a dream you came to visit too. Only, it was a snowy Guam with a Jewish cemetery and we got into a snowball fight...
